A Bay Area native and daughter of Mexican immigrants, Rocío Medina van Nierop is the Executive Director and co-founder of Latinas in Tech, a nonprofit organization aimed at creating a tech industry where Latinas are well-represented.
Since it was founded in 2014, Latinas in Tech has built an ecosystem of diversity in which data scientists, engineers, cybersecurity experts, journalists, and more facilitate a collaborative community to ensure the innovators of tomorrow have a safe space for learning, mentorship, and recruitment.
Building a Trusted Future
To build a Trusted Future, technologies must be inclusive by design, with new products and services designed for, and by, a more diverse group of people. With chapters all across the United States, as well as chapters in Canada, London, Madrid, and São Paulo, Latinas in Tech is helping to build that future – empowering and supporting Latina engineers, innovators, and entrepreneurs.
